How Care Begins At Aroga

Beginning home care can feel like a big step. At Aroga, we believe the process should feel calm, thoughtful, and personal.

Instead of simply sending a caregiver, we take time to understand your loved one, your family, and what truly matters in daily life. From there, we carefully introduce caregivers we believe will be a strong match.

Because when the relationship feels right, care works better for everyone.

Step 1: Conversation in the Home

After our first initial phone conversation, Our care team will begin by meeting with you and your loved one in the home. This conversation helps us understand routines, preferences, personality, and the level of support that may be helpful.

We encourage anyone who would like to be part of the conversation; family members, spouses, or adult children, so everyone feels heard and supported as we begin planning care and a schedule that works for everyone.

Step 2: Thoughtful Caregiver Matching

After learning about your loved one’s needs, routines, and personality, we carefully identify caregivers whose experience and temperament feel like the right fit.

Many families appreciate the opportunity to meet a caregiver before care begins. When desired, we can arrange a meet-and-greet so you and your loved one can connect, ask questions, and see how the relationship feels.

Some families choose to meet one caregiver, while others prefer to meet a few potential caregivers before making a decision. Either way, the choice always remains with the client and family.

Our role is to guide the process and introduce caregivers we believe will be a strong match.

Step 3: Care Begins at Home

Once the right caregiver has been selected, care begins in the comfort of your home. Our team remains involved to ensure it remains a good match everything is going smoothly and to provide ongoing support for both the client, family and care provider.

Because when the relationship is right, care works better for everyone.

There is no pressure to begin care right away. Many families simply start with a conversation to explore their options.

Support for dementia care — with help you may not know exists

Caring for someone with memory loss can feel overwhelming. There is a Medicare-supported program designed to help — and most families don’t even know it’s available.

A MOMENT OF UNCERTAINTY

At some point, many families begin to notice a shift.

It may be subtle at first, small lapses in memory, changes in behavior, or a growing need for support. Over time, those moments begin to carry more weight, and the path forward can feel unclear.

This is often where we meet families.

Not at the beginning, and not at the end — but in the middle of trying to understand what comes next.

A PROGRAM MOST FAMILIES HAVEN’T HEARD ABOUT

There is a Medicare-supported program called GUIDE, designed specifically for individuals living with dementia and the people caring for them.

It was created to provide structure, guidance, and support during a time that is often fragmented and overwhelming.

For those who qualify, the program offers support valued at approximately $2,500 per year, renewing annually.

Many families never access it — not because they don’t qualify, but because they were never told it exists.

WHO THIS MAY BE FOR

This may be worth exploring if:

  • A loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia

  • You are noticing memory loss or cognitive changes, even without a formal diagnosis

  • You are supporting a parent, spouse, or family member and feeling the weight of it

  • Your loved one is living at home, in assisted living, or in memory care

If a diagnosis has not yet been established, we can help guide that process and connect you with the right clinical support.

WHAT SUPPORT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

GUIDE is not a one-time service. It is ongoing support designed to make the day-to-day more manageable for both the individual and the family.

This may include:

  • Guidance through care decisions

  • Support for family caregivers

  • Coordination of services and next steps

  • Added support during times of transition or increased need

At its core, it creates a layer of clarity and steadiness — so families are not trying to navigate everything alone.

WHAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T REALIZE

Families are often surprised to learn:

  • This is a Medicare program, not income-based

  • It can be used whether someone is at home or in a community setting

  • The benefit renews each year, but unused support does not carry over

  • Many people qualify but never access it simply due to lack of awareness

HOW AROGA APPROACHES THIS

Our role is not simply to provide care.

It is to help families understand what is available, what is appropriate, and what will truly make a difference.

We help you:

  • Understand whether this program may apply to your situation

  • Navigate the steps needed to access support

  • Coordinate care in a way that feels thoughtful and consistent

  • Support both the individual and the family as needs evolve

This is not something you have to figure out on your own.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

If you’re wondering whether this could be helpful for your family, the next step is simply a conversation.

We will take the time to understand your situation, answer your questions, and help you determine what makes the most sense moving forward.

Let’s walk through this together. We’ll help you understand what’s available and what feels right for your family.
